Maime Pond

It is one of a group of lakes and marshes scattered throughout the Norikura Plateau. The lava plateau created by the eruption of Mt. Norikura has many hollows where water collects and forms ponds.

Mt. Norikura Snow Resort

Because of its high elevation, Norikura Kogen has a reputation for good snow quality. The soft, fluffy snow is also known as “feather snow,” and is a unique experience that can only be enjoyed here.

Icefall at Zengoro Falls

The Zengoro Falls, with its powerful 22-meter drop and refreshing spray, changes dramatically in winter. In the winter, the waterfall changes its appearance to that of a severe icefall, as if to tell the story of Norikura's harsh winters.

Starry sky within the plateau

Winter, when the air is even clearer and the sky is quieter, is the best season for stargazing. In Norikura Kogen, you can find 6th magnitude stars that are too bright to see with the naked eye.

Ichinose Meadow in winter

In winter, Norikura Kogen is enveloped in deep snow. The silent snowfields and frozen forests create a pure white, mystical world.

The days are getting colder and colder, how are you all doing?

I spend my days going to ski resorts. My goal this year is to ski at least 30 days a year. Skiing used to be an event for me, but here it has become a part of my daily life.

I felt something after skiing a lot. It was a quiet, luxurious way of spending time that was different from the exhilaration of skiing.

Mt. Norikura Snow Resort opened for business on Saturday, December 13th!
We are doing our best in business again this year with the help of local volunteers.

Mt. Norikura Snow Resort will continue to offer free lift tickets for those 18 years old and younger in fiscal year 2025!

We welcome everyone from beginners to experts, alone or with your family.
